The cathedral (Igreja da Sé) is surrounded by a couple of very lively streets where a number of shops sell hammocks, hardware, herbs and grain. This area is also home to a number of wholesale stores and warehouses. A rather filthy area in the 80s, it was renovated nicely a few years ago and became a very pleasant place for shopping. |
